Why is the story that Rosenstein proposed taping the president and not that he thought the president was so corrupt he should be taped? This is how you fail daily CNN and NYT.

But are they the facts, or was someone planting a story? It doesn’t seem theybwere even willing to investigate that in order to get a scoop.

The "facts" from no one who was in the room. Sorry, but on this one, the Times is taking a leap -- one that is seriously putting a lot at stake. How is it that @NBC secured a source that was in the room -- in a day! Yet, @NYT couldn't secure that source with months of reporting?

This is a putty for the Russians attitude. Failure to understand that one is at the center of an Information war and being weaponized daily is to surrender to instrumentalization of said Information war.

The N Y Times finally realizing the real collusion story is the Deep State, anti-Trumpers trying to frame him and force him out. @CNN better get on that bandwagon too or continue to look foolish.

Sorry Brian, but this piece is a specific reason why the general rule doesn’t apply. This wasn’t a reporting the facts situation as the significant facts are in dispute among the principals. Reporters know people routinely distort&are supposed to take this into consideration.

Facts are not in a vacuum. Without context, facts are even more open to interpretation. What are the motivations of anonymous sources? No journalist or source is without subjectivity. Why do media admonish readers for having questions or criticism?

The context & tone in which this conversation took place is absent making it difficult to assess. People with a dry sarcastic sense of humor could easily come off as dead serious. The article is unfair cuz it doesn’t answer these issues.

The Post story specifically says some in room thought it was sarcastic, "That person insisted the statement was not meant seriously" NBC reported same on air. It's fine to stick by reporting... but this is kind of crazy.
