at first glance i was surprised then after about 30 seconds of reflection realized this was complete BS based on living in Manhattan. the idea that a NYT reporter wouldn't quickly conclude the same is absurd...

I recall as a young reporter being admonished by my editors to play my stories straight down the middle, check my facts, own up to my mistakes, and seek out opposing viewpoints -- even on seemingly "settled" topics. Seems to quaint now.

Given the hyperactivity on reaction to news at this juncture, does it not make more sense to pause before publishing stories (across all spectrums) Brian? I know there is an unquenchable desire to report on something first, but

the story said the truth in it that it was ordered during Obama administration. The whole problem with the story was that the headline conflicted with what they hid in the text. It was on purpose there’s no other explanation

The deeper problem here is the lack of ideological diversity at the NYT. It took conservatives on Twitter zero seconds to catch what was wrong. Why didn’t any editors spot the problem before the story ran? Newsrooms would benefit if they thought more like America.
