BULLETIN: "Jeff Fager is leaving the company effective immediately," CBS News president David Rhodes says. "Bill Owens will manage the 60 Minutes team as Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews and I begin the search for a new executive producer of the program."

Rhodes says Fager's departure from CBS "is not directly related to the allegations surfaced in press reports, which continue to be investigated independently. However, he violated company policy and it is our commitment to uphold those policies at every level."

Here's my full story about @JeffFager's exit -- a huge change for @60Minutes -- he's just the second exec producer in the program's historyhttp://money.cnn.com/2018/09/12/media/jeff-fager-cbs-steps-down/index.html …

When you tell someone you oversee to “cover you fairly” in harsh terms... it seems like there is an implication that if they write something that reflects negatively you might view it as “unfair” and punish them.

So basically, he tried to use his power as a weapon. Over an investigation of he.....using his power as a weapon. Sexually and also in terms of poor treatment of staff. Yeah. Put 2+2 together. He couldn't help himself.

“It wasn’t my fault, *maybe* I spoke too harshly but I was just defending myself and the outcome was unfair to me.” That’s very efficient use of abuser language.

I doubt this text message was the cause for his dismissal, but from this note I understand the text to be profane and inappropriate. When you're a senior executive in a company you don't send an employee a profane and inappropriate demand. Period.

@CNNPolitics prints without verification of any story as long as it has a negative spin towards this administration and anyone who supports the @POTUS . That is why @CNNPolitics is known as #FakeNewsCNN

Yeah actually - no. I have been in news biz 30 years -I never speak to anyone harshly -nor do I respond to "harsh demands." Jeff Fager wasn't even a particularly exceptional news producer. Good riddance to the reign of ancient thinking and embedded patriarchy at #CBSNews
