Let’s stop saying he’s “stepping down”. HE IS BEING FIRED. but thanks for the mansplaining. You’re too young to use the language of old white men Brian. Don’t do it.

Not trying to put words in his mouth, but as a journalist, he can’t say “fired” even though we all know that’s what it is. He’s probably covering his and his employer’s butt by using that terminology. I can’t imagine he’s trying to cover for Les.

I realize that. I just detest that powerful men like Moonves who are criminals get to preserve some dignity. Brian should have said: “Because he sexually assaulted women since the late 80’s and got caught, he is stepping down”. That I could stomach.

That is a fair critique. “Following years of alleged multiple sexual assaults, CBS and Moonves are parting ways” would have been more accurate and fair.

The guilty usually face no criminal charges & are handed very generous exit packages while those they've abused have to accept a career they didn't choose, fight systems designed to thwart them at every turn for years to come for the small possibility of a civil judgment.

I foresee a shareholder lawsuit against CBS for knowing about Moonves misconduct and failing to do something about it, effectively squandering resources and hurting earnings. Such suit would be highly likely if CBS pays him big money to leave. Misconduct is bad for business.

Well, they do have 'cause' so I hope he doesn't get any payout. Guy behaves badly, abuses power, gets caught, gets let go, guy gets golden parachute. Such an awful message. Guys profit from behaving badly - for doing what they should not have done. So here's hoping he gets nada.
