Obama telling the truth about his media criticism versus Trump's criticism: "I complained plenty about Fox News, but you never heard me threaten to shut them down, or call them enemies of the people."

Oh please...The Obama Justice Department spent seven years in court trying to force Risen to reveal his sources in its criminal investigation of a leak. Team Obama took the case all the way to the Supreme Court.

Obama's actions (spying on reporters, threatening imprisonment if they don't reveal sources, etc.) were far worse. Trump's words are of a piece with Obama's, just more frequent. Talking of repetition,
@CNN should be the last one to complain about that, considering own behavior. - 1 more reply

Do you recognize the differences? Because one is far worse and more consequential that’s the other.

Trump never said that all media is the enemy of the people. He said that “Fake News” is the enemy of the people. However, the 93% negative reporting, not covering any positive facts, biased and one sided opinions, or outright fake news is an enemy of the people.

Anita Dunn said of Fox News in 2009, “ Were going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent. As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave.”

Ask
@SharylAttkisson how fair & even handed Obama’s thugs were with the media. There’s even paperwork that indicates Brennan was targeting her. Infiltrating and keylogging her CBS workstation, etc. You were just hunky dory if you were compliant. CNN...was completely compliant. -
Have you seen this
@brianstelter? This is how dear leader treated your fellow journalists.pic.twitter.com/N4Ok3wUivm

You’re right it is important to recognize the difference. Where Trump talks shit about the media, Obama literally attacked the media with government institutions. That’s the difference. Obama says mostly the right things but did mostly the wrong things.

No, Brian, Obama’s statement is far from accurate. People no longer take you seriously precisely because of statements like this one. You. Are. Wrong. Just admit it and move on.

Trump calling you
#FakeNews which you are proving to be right now, Obama misused his powers and here you are saying oh it was no big deal and he was telling the truth. I don’t recall him telling people he misused his power in his speech. Must have missed that.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
