Politico asked me: "How is the Trump presidency going?" My answer: I believe we'll all look back someday and recognize that it was a rolling, ongoing crisis. A crisis of credibility and of competency...https://www.politico.com/story/2018/09/03/playbook-birthday-brian-stelter-806293 …

Uh, burying the headline a bit... Happy Birthday, Brian! A year ago, I didn’t know who you were. Now I can’t imagine my media life without you. Here’s to a truthful and resilient year ahead! 🎉🎂

One thing for certain about the Trump presidency: His brand of politics is not going to produce the kind of world that you're going to want your daughter to grow up and live in. It will be profoundly corrupt. And dangerous.

I think we'll look back and remember a time when the news used to be nothing but propaganda. And remember Trump as the one who ended that era of the media misinforming and lying.

All that with 1 important C left out -- a preternatural absence of character on a scale the presidency has rarely if ever witnessed before.

Happy Birthday, Brian! Great interview but also wished you'd mentioned more about your webby/bloggy start prior to NYTimes. You were absolutely cutting edge and they had to notice your skill in social media (when everyone else was trying to define what 'social media' meant).
