I think it can be a good thing, as someone like her can see the tributes and love. I work in Hospice, and it tough and often lonely for our patients, even when surrounded by family. Social media can do good things for those who are passing on.

How about calling it celebrating!! Before she leaves us - she can know how much we celebrate her!!

Yes, it can be a distortion of the natural order and course of emotion: "grieve on the rumor, sell (change the channel) on the news." Every nuance of feeling is truncated and assimilated into a timeline of adrenaline highs.

https://youtu.be/9_W5aexEPao Here's a very offensive, "warning to the morbidly obese", here is a rare, early demo by "The Police" entitled "Bucket"...this is an outrage...but Aretha was rather well fed.....

I agree, Brian. Sudden deaths or suicides (Robin Williams) are so tragic with absolutely no preparation. Even though Aretha's health is failing, may she find peace in life and death.

It might give some comfort to have some idea of how many people care about you. Better than flowers after, IMO. May the peace of the Lord be with you all. Have a blessed day. Steely Dan: "Hey Nineteen That's 'Retha Franklin She (19) don't remember the Queen of Soul"

Cuz so much crap every day in the retrograde age of *45 just wears us down… it’s helpful to prepare in advance for yet another loss of incomparable talent.

It also allows us a chance to offer words of appreciation to someone who has contributed memories and moments to our lives before they are lost to us! Thank You Miss Aretha! You are forever a part of the soundtrack of my life! RESPECT 4EVER! God Speed!

What I've read of her health is just devastatingly cruel. Thought of her all day. She deserves some privacy now.
