On Fox's highest-rated shows, the politics of white anxiety play out practically every day, as hosts and guests warn about the impacts of immigration and minimize or mock the perspectives of POC. It's about appealing to people who perceive they are losing their grip on power... https://twitter.com/CNNBusiness/status/1027728761251422208 …

Twitter is not the right place for this discussion, but: Do you think every Fox fan who's fearful of change is guilty of racism? Or do you think it's more nuanced than that?

Brian, what's with this dodge? Laura Ingraham is spreading white supremacy. To say that white supremacy and racism play on the demographic fears of white people goes without saying. But this isn't benign. White supremacy is the agenda. Call it out.

Who's dodging? Read the actual story, watch our TV coverage, tell me if we're "dodging"

you ride right up to the line, referring to other outlets and people are white supremacist/nationalist, you occasionally put the descriptor in via quote from someone else, but Ingraham's language doesn't "echo" white nationalism. it IS white nationalism.

Ingraham's agenda, as she herself states, is to stem the flow of new non-white immigrants to America, and furthermore to kick as many non-white people out as possible. that is white nationalism. that's racism in full force. this isn't ambiguous and you shouldn't talk around it.

You'll have to send me the quote where she says she wants to kick out as many non-white people as possible. If she had said that on TV, I would know about it. (Whether you believe that's what she's implying is another issue)

what do you think attempting to deport literally millions of non-white "illegal" immigrants is? especially when framed as an issue of scary demographic change "we didn't vote for"? that Fox tries to skirt by on the vagaries of language doesn't mean you need to let them.

When the fear is of "massive demographic changes," yes. Or do you believe that Laura Ingraham believes that immigration policies have resulted in too many Americans who are between the ages of 35 and 44?

I guess they would have to called 90% of Japanese, South Koreans, Chinese racist. Demographics change has never been the norm throughout history , I dare anyone to name a non-hierarchical multicultural society.Power and status is hardwired into every human.

To some degree, yes, definitely. I also think they are guilty of pandering to an audience that is fearful and racist. And even if this HOST isn't racist, openly doing this to keep viewers engaged, is racist.
