What if every state provided some seed $$$ for local journalism -- as a way to rebuild some of what's been lost through years of budget cuts and layoffs? That's what New Jersey is on the verge of doing. Here's my full story...http://money.cnn.com/2018/07/03/media/new-jersey-civic-info-bill/index.html …

We don't need to prop up a corrupt industry. The internet provides all citizens with the ability to get and send out news. If CNN was shut down tomorrow, nothing would lost. The country would be better off.

Will the students be taught TRUTH & INTEGRITY ? Or will they be taught how to use "Unnamed Sources" to advance an agenda ? Will they taught TRUTH matters more than getting a Pulitzer Prize ?

So besides the whole State media thing. What will this group cover/say that make it sustainable that current Media doesn’t? What controversy will it report that it won’t be shredded for bias?

What if every business had to produce a product that sold? If you have a bad product, you lose. If you actually have something worthwhile, it will sell. CNN has no viable product to sell, therefore they are failing. Easy.

Yeah, I don't see a benifit for the tax payer. All that would do is further cement the relationship between government and whichever media take the handout.
