But, @brianstelter and @markfollman say fear is overblown and women are being hyperbolic!https://twitter.com/scotthech/status/1011976421156315137 …

TERROR: My colleague just got an email from a client who is “so worried” about letting her daughter spend a weekend alone with her undocumented husband. “God forbid ICE or immigration officials stop him for any reason. What could happen to my daughter?” The fear is pervasive.

as a professional journo- and one who makes a living assessing professional journo at that, you esp should be able to take responsibility for the impact of your word choices. You're getting polite, reasoned FB about how your choices are being received. And you're blowing it off.

and women are pretty much fed up with white men in media lately- from 2016 where we were basically ignored as voters, to now, when our concerns are being pooh-poohed away. I am talking to you because I think you are coachable. I hope you won't disappoint me.

You were referring to fearmongering. Who is do this? Who decides which issues are most alarming? Why do you think these fall under fearmongering? How do you think your audience should be made aware of the stakes?

"We don't need fear mongering" is what I recall. I didn't go back, because your audience shouldn't need the video or text right in front of them to engage. While you had a moment in the media criticism vanguard, it appears events are outrunning you.

Characterizing your statement as "fear is overblown" seems quite reasonable.
