Wrong. Charging every arrival - including asylum seekers - criminally is brand new.

People coming across the border are not asylum seekers. There's a formal process for that. They are illegally crossing into the US, making them criminals. What happens when criminal parents are caught? They are separated from their children. It happens to US citizens too.
