        People coming across the border are not asylum seekers. There's a formal process for that. They are illegally crossing into the US, making them criminals. What happens when criminal parents are caught? They are separated from their children. It happens to US citizens too.

        And there’s been reporting about drug cartels blocking safe access to ports of entry, forcing migrants to reroute to a potentially more dangerous path and one that doesn’t lead to a port of entry.
