When Trump claimed that Dems are making him separate families at the border, a reporter responded, "That's your own policy. Why do you keep lying about it, sir?" Later, another reporter said "that’s not true, sir. That’s not true..." https://mailchi.mp/cnn/rs-june-15-2018 …

To be clear, Brian, ANY journalist who lets Trump and his team get away with lying is not doing their job. The media has abdicated their responsibility to truth in favor of access, and the result of this cynicism is destroying people's lives.
-
And they abdicated it by not doing their jobs during the campaign- his mob ties, dirty desks, sexual assault, and bankruptcies were the stories, not his freaking Twitter habits.
-
That’s dirty deals— damn autocorrect

-
When I read dirty desks, all I thought was “what the fuck did that orange shitstain do now”
-
I read dirty desks and thought, damn, mine has paper all over it...am I about to be arrested???

-
IMHO. His desks are empty but still dirty.
-
Everything about him vile

real would be calling a lie a lie, not covering for Trump because you're afraid you'll lose a book deal
-
Brian confuses "real" with "journalist he likes"

I’ve gotta say, so many journalists line up to defend her and claim to like her, but all I see from her is incredibly thin skin, no deep thinking, and an ability to sell her soul for access. Doesn’t seem like a great person to me.

Journalists like Maggie Haberman because she points them toward stories. The public does not like her because she transmits enormous amounts of spin in anything she reports, to the point that you have no idea whose interest she is serving. It does not feel like the public's.
-
Maggie Haberman got out ahead of Michael Cohen on the Stormy Daniels story writing four or five times that he "paid out of his own pocket," which is more misleading than Cohen's own statement, and totally untrue. Just publishing his statement would have served the public better.
-
Maggie Haberman flogged Ivanka's book. And she ran to the defense of the press secretary, who lies to the American public every day. There is a reason she is widely disliked.

Maggie has “access” based ambiguities. She’s a pro, but sometimes pro’s lose sight of how they’re compromised, and what the motives of their inside sources are. Sadly, this was evident during the 2016 campaign. Anti HRC propaganda and shrugs over obvious signs of Trump’s evil.

Maggie is not all that, she is a phony in many ways. She reported Hillary emails, when they went out of fashion, she moved to Clinton Fdn., never reporting on Trump and the mafia when everyone in NY knows. So miss me with Maggie "realist"
