THREE years ago today, Trump announced his bid for president. Here's my look back at the first hour of coverage, which foreshadowed everything...http://money.cnn.com/2016/06/16/media/trump-announcement-one-year-later/index.html …

CNN was directly part of the problem. You gave in to "entertainment before anything" and created a false equivalency where there should have never been one.

That’s why I don’t watch @CNN anymore. They helped this monster get elected.

exactly right. i switched to @MSNBC (esp. @maddow) & never much even glance at @cnn anymore. and when you hired trump’s boy lewandowski, i knew that was just trump’s infiltration of ‘fake news’.

CNN would cover a Trump fart and hold a round table discussion about it if they could. @CNN is part of the problem and they are motivated by shock and ratings. #embarrassing

Personally I think CNN and the other mainstream media outlets have been to soft on Trump. Giving voice to shameless Trump apologists who speak as if Trump has done no wrong. Bring back real investigative journalism and look into all the Trump family malfeasance.

And to think you all in the media could have prevented this from happening. But ratings were more important than the well being of this country. You made her out to be a criminal, which she wasn’t. You made him out to be an acceptable POTUS, which he isn’t.

You chose the show instead of documenting a serious policy debate. This remains the press' darkest hour.

Thankfully, the media took his candidacy serious like any other candidate. No way did you take it as some ratings grab and played along and ignored everything that makes him dangerous today. Good job journalists!

Media ignored everything that made him dangerous and broadcast every tweet and every word that came out of his mouth including taking unscheduled telephone calls while on air. Shameful.

They were all doing it. Without the help of the media Trump would've lost by double digits.
