Going on CNN with @brianstelter to talk about Trump lying and false-claim-ing

Nobody is asking you to “give up on nuance.” But when you lot can’t call out the obvious, demonstrable lies for what they are, then we think nuance is just a shield you’re hiding behind to insulate you from accountability.

Really well said!

Because when one thinks of
@realDonaldTrump, one thinks of "nuance." DO YOU EVEN READ WHAT YOU WRITE? -
Brian, normally I admire your work. But I’m
#teamssoledad all the way on this. A “fib” is what a bad kid tries to convince his parent or teacher they told when they lied.

Sometimes criminals don’t break the law! Nuance!

Hitler was nice to his dogs, so, you know, nuance.

Nuance is ok under normal circumstances. But this is a pathological case. You need to create boundaries. And boundaries come with very strong lines. It's futile to normalize the situation. You don't need to become one sided but you need to have strict boundaries.

Are you serious? Now you are calling it nuance? He is a congenital liar. A knowing, purposeful liar. And the media is in knots trying to give him every benefit of the doubt.

Does nuance really matter when there is a pattern of consistent substantive pathological distortion of the truth?

Let’s not give up on the idea that those closest to him say he often experiences reality different than the rest of us. It’s your job to make sure that breaks with the truth big or small are called out. We’re all sliding down a slippery slope because no one uses the word lie.

There's the truth, and then there's the opposite of it, which is a LIE. GTOH with your degrees of a lie bs, Brian. Either he is telling the truth or he's telling a lie. That's it

Call a lie a lie, even if it’s a fib. It does no one any good to not call things as they are.

Do you not realize just how scared some people are right now about the direction of this country? I get your argument but perhaps if the press stopped pretending they were seperate from the public you'd understand. It's a story to you and nuance matters there.

To the people that this administrations policies affect directly nuance doesn't exist. Consider that next time you pontificate.

The time for nuance has passed. When one party gaslights the other party with “ fibs, little white lies, untruths”, etc, only truth matters. Think of it like a relationship. Reference the BSB , if neededpic.twitter.com/Rm02GInbij
