Some of Trump’s most autocratic stuff failed because people reported on it, litigated about it, marched against it, voted, and fought like hell. So please spare me your chill when he says he wants to overturn the election. He can’t pull it off, but it’s bad that he’s trying.

McConnell & friends will echo Trump's "fraud" claims in order to placate the Trump supporters who (re-)elected them in 2020. Most Republicans will fear these voters for the rest of their careers, long after Trump's gone, so that they can win GOP primaries in perpetuity.
