Same way that they dithered and delayed and denied any urgency to deal with covid19. 143,000+ deaths later (and excess mortality figures push it to 180,000+), and a shattered economy.

Cool. My industry (events) is not coming back anytime soon. And even with the $600, I’m making substantially less than I normally would. Without the $600, my state expects me to live off of the equivalent of $11k/yr in a high cost of living metro area.
