You have to live in some kind of fantasy land to think that people can survive week by week without their regular paycheck. And you have to be even more delusional to think landlords will show any leniency as it relates to the rent being due. These guys are out of touch.

My Wife & I are living in Waikiki, self employed govt contractors. Due to having UNPAID INVOICES of money owed us we are now behind on rent, bills, and running out of food with about $80 left to our names. #theforgottenemployee

Furloughed Fed. When I called my landlord during the 2013 shutdown I got a 30 minute lecture on how I was a sponge off the taxpayer & my rent was still due. Have to make another call on Monday. Sigh.....

Thank you. The 800K furloughed number doesn’t include the millions of Govt contractors going through this, as well. Last furlough many were required to use their vacation time to get a check. Lots of people impacted. 😢

Contractors aren't even due back pay, correct?

Correct. It’s up to the company they work for & their contract type. Fixed price contracts will often pay their employees. Cost type contracts cannot direct bill for their furlough time, so they usually have their employees use vacation time.

Two furloughed feds in my two income house (the 4yo doesn’t have a job yet, but daycare is $900/mo!) .. and our mortgage doesn’t take painting drywall work in lieu of payment. And if we get foreclosed on, we lose $150k in equity. I’d like to hear a bit more about that vs rent.

How do we do a go fund me for 800,000 fellow citizens. There has to be something we can do. This is just so wrong.

I've had that same thought. I think a lot of people would contribute but how would we get it to where it needs to go?

The problem isn't whether or not Rs think people can live without paychecks. The problem is they just don't care. #kakistocracy

I wonder how many times the Trumps and Kushner's have accepted odd jobs as payments instead of cash. My guess would be zero.

Trump has never lived paycheck to paycheck. He still believes that you need a photo ID to buy a box of cereal. He is completely out of touch with how normal people live, and has no regard for their struggles.
