This trade war is not getting better and the administration has no plan. Rural voters are giving Trump a pass for now, partly because there’s a fund to pay them not to farm, which runs out soon. I just don’t think their patience will last forever.

You're underestimating the lack of cognitive skills among those voters. They have been accepting all of Trump's policies that hurt them since he became president and are no more likely to change than he is.
