I think he sincerely wants the court to be above the fray, but because he’s unwilling to compromise he’s just rolled with 73 decisions in a row that were partisan 5-4.

I think he’s smart enough to know it’s a bad look for the Supreme Court to have so many 5-4 decisions along liberal conservative lines, and rich, white, male, and conservative enough to do the bare minimum (ACA is a tax) to make it look nonpartisan. Shelby County is an atrocity.

With Gorsuch and Kavanaugh he won't need to worry about any more 5-4 delegitimizing decisions, now we'll have 6-3 delegitimizing decisions.

I hope Roberts is watching the horrific fruits of his voter suppression majority from Shelby Co. vs Holder (3 hr waits in Georgia today!). He's as partisan as they come and he should be ashamed watching the GOP disenfranchising minority Americans. Disgusting!
