At Police Staff College we were told that we were moving from Superintending ranks, where we had to work within the existing paradigm, to ACPO ranks, where we had to challenge the existing paradigm. Never forgot that. Still doing it!

This sort of disingenuous silliness is really disappointing to see. Especially when being used to cover up the fact that Labour GLA members threw away their right to properly represent the people who voted for them.

Yet another fantastic Simon Walters exclusive. Standards watchdog concluded Boris Johnson broke rules on holiday gift transparency. But he's spent months fighting her verdict.

Interesting from ⁦⁩ quoting a Whitehall source: It’s very clear that we should have closed the border to India earlier and that Boris did not do so because he didn’t want to offend Modi.

I faced intense pressure to be a boy for the first 20 years of my life. Friends, family, strangers and the media all told me I had to be a boy. That being trans wasn't an option. All it did was make me deeply unhappy. I needed them to believe and accept me Ban conversion therapy

I repeat, if you don’t support ID cards in general, you can’t possibly support voter ID. Unless, of course, you do support voter suppression.

Me having anxiety/depression is like being scared/tired at the same time. Its fear of failure, but no urge to be productive. Wants friends, but not having any. Its wanting to be alone, but not wanting to be lonely. Feeling everything at once, then I go numb. Please be my friend.

  19. Dear - the legislation is designed to deter all asylum seekers, including those who can lawfully claim asylum in the U.K., anyone who does not use ‘safe & legal routes’ that currently do not exist. Your headline ‘deter illegal asylum seekers’ is misleading.

There is no evidence that the plan to increase the length of prison sentences will protect victims or reduce crime, on the contrary it will increase violence inside (and probably after) prisons
