I've seen a lot of gratitude and respect for what you tried to do in terms of being objective, neutral etc - even if it got drowned out by the crazies. Move on to something where your skills will be appreciated.

He is appreciated. I'd be surprised if
@Womans_Place_UK don't appreciate his actions. I certainly do, and I've seen others who have also. One public figure willing to apply some reasoned thought and unafraid to take flack can make a big change for the better for all. -
We certainly do appreciate it. We also understand the despair he feels when inundated with abuse for trying to have a dialogue. We are determined to continue and pleased some principled politicians are too.
@SophieRunning another such person. -
There are about 1400 parliamentarians (MPs + Lords). How many have even engaged in open-minded debate on GRA reform and self-ID. Three, four maybe? Brian deserves a great deal of credit.

I have a lot of respect for your courage and integrity,
@brianpaddick. Thanks for your commitment to dialogue and consultation (which is your job) - and for risking a lot in the process. Many in your position do not have your courage, sadly. I wish you were not so alone in this.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I do not require a response, Sir, but I do hope that you will carefully check any claims made to you and any sources for them, in sufficient detail. The claims of
#WPUK are formulated in a deceptive way and require detailed analysis and cross-checking with facts to unravel them. -
Translation: You may think you're smart enough to determine the facts, but you're not because you don't agree with me.
-
I did not actually say that. If you want translation it's "don't trust them, check every word, they have hidden lies in their claims".
-
A typical hidden lie is a demand for reviewing how EA exceptions are applied. The State has no power to apply them, there is nothing to review. The exceptions are *purely* opt-in.
-
Unless they have claims that an organization wanted to opt for the exceptions and was specifically denied, or unless they want to deny autonomy to Women's Aid or others, there is nothing the state *can* review in the matter.
-
If so, that would only mean they are mistaken, it doesn't make their concerns invalid and it doesn't make them untrustworthy.
-
I am unwilling to extend this presumption to a group that (a) was clearly told multiple times of the "mistakes" and separately (b) will not distance itself from outright hate speech by other groups in the same campaign. notably the meeting in Parliament building.
-
You are being willfully ignorant of the threats of violence and rampant misogyny, homophobia and racism that is displayed by some TRAs and their supporters. You're cherry-picking to paint one side as bigoted and the other as oppressed. Shame on you.

I don't blame you Brian. You're clearly trying to understand the issue so getting attacked from both sides must be tough. But I for one really appreciate what you're doing.

I’d like to hope that you’d still consider this matter offline. It’s important. Thanks.

Thank you for listening - to both sides. I thought you were going into this with preconceived notions and a closed mind and I was wrong, so I apologise. I feel for you having to deal with all this. We need open discussion and it's not happening.

Simply by acknowledging that it is important to listen and challenging the 'no debate' ideology you have achieved a great deal. I hope you can carry on doing that.

And so, once again, ordinary, everyday women with far less power & protection than men like you have, are left to go it alone because it’s all to much to cope with... Nonetheless, thank you for at least listening Brian - it’s first step at least.

Don't blame you. Us women will carry on fighting the fight though. No other choice not to. Appreciate your time and consideration though.

Imagine how much worse you'd have been getting on here if you were female. It's been unpleasant. However, I haven't noticed any rape or death threats.
