Also note that I’ve been in various places where protests were distorted to fit a transphobic agenda afterwards & blatant lies spread about things that didn’t happen. Look at #WPUK and the pics from tonight and how a narrative is concocted.

We really don't know what you mean. We do know there's an awful lot of energy put into attacking us when it would be a lot easier all round to sit down and listen to our concerns. We are here and ready to talk.

Finally, most of the demands made by
@Womans_Place_UK would have zilch to do with the GRA - most of this is covered by the 2010 Equality Act (which, again, I assume you know). The entire basis of the requested “debate” is disingenuous. -
If all our concerns are without foundation then it should be really easy to sit down and make the necessary guarantees that we are asking for. Why is it then, that no-one has been able to do that? Until they do, we'll keep going.
-
But are you asking for "guarantees" of things that are not true under the present regime? For example, present law does not MANDATE single-sex sexes excluding trans people, it only provides a narrow exception that need to be justified. Here's a recent casehttps://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/business/store-failed-to-take-the-grievances-of-a-transgender-staff-member-seriously-36612162.html …
-
Note that harassment of the trans woman because she was using the female bathroom and persistent denial of her gender identity were among the things condemned by a UK court. This is here and now, before any reform. Nothing to do with GRA reform. Do you want to protest that case?

You do realise how much "sensible people on both sides" sounds like Trump talking about Charlottesville?
-
True. Only one side turns up masked, threatens violence, and is convicted of assault. Hint: it’s not the feminists.

There is no "physical assaults" plural to condemn. There was a single case of a violent reaction to filming. Many people, including
@stonewalluk , condemned the behaviour at the time. -
Screaming at people , trying to get them removed from their job and trying to physically stop them from entering spaces also count as assault to most people , you know
-
The term used was specifically "physical assault". There is undoubtedly a legal assault on the "right" to use "primacy of biology" in some circumstances, and it did not start with GRA reform, here's a case under present lawhttps://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/business/store-failed-to-take-the-grievances-of-a-transgender-staff-member-seriously-36612162.html …

Agree, yes. But it's worth noting that, so far, only one "side" are shutting down free speech,( and wearing masks and so on..)

The very fact that (as you claimed) there were trans women at that meeting would indicate that trans people aren't a monolith, and surely you could see how dodgy asking for an opressed group as a whole to condemn individual actions is?
-
To stray out of my lane even more with an analogy: If, say, antifa were to block a meeting of For Britain (who stay on the right side of the law), on the grounds of that group's Islamophobia, would it be fair to expect Muslims to condemn antifa, even if violence was involved?

If the 'concerns' people want to talk about are whether or not one marginalised section of society should have human rights, then it's completely ok for people to turn out and loudly protest such hateful nonsense.

People in decades gone by who tried to deny the existence of, or spread mistruths about, gay men said they just wanted to "talk about their concerns". And as I'm sure you are aware Brian, gay men didn't just sit down and have a polite debate with them.

Please tell me which physical assaults (plural) have happened? What “intimidation”? Does protesting count as intimidation? Does wearing masks? What would you like trans women and their allies to condemn?
