How did you resolve it?
@brianpaddick says this is unacceptable behaviour but I’m confused as to why police didn’t act. Legally pushing through wouldn’t have intent to harm so not assault but I don’t have faith in the police to uphold that in this climate.1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

Assault is the intentional application of force without consent - intent to cause harm is not required. Those blocking inside are trespassing & the owner of the premises can ask the police to assist in their removal but its not an offence.

Can you confirm if pushing past would be classed as assault then, if police are either not called by venue owners or don’t act for whatever reason?

I’m not a lawyer and it seems counterintuitive but it may do. The owner of the premises or those acting on the owner’s behalf may use reasonable force to remove trespassers.
