Do you think this is OK? Masked men, physically preventing women from entering a building to talk about gender?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBll45tSKzc …

I realise you don't want to get drawn in here but I want to at least have said this to you in hopes you may take it into consideration & those reading may also think about it all. Being prevented from leaving somewhere is something I've experienced from abusive males before.

Their conduct is likely to cause a breach of the peace, for which the police can arrest. There are breaches of Articles 10 & 11 of Human Rights Act - freedom of expression and assembly. If what is said in the meeting is offensive, take action but don't stop the event taking place
-
So what would be the reason for them not to act? There are some questions being raised about recent training from charities that positions this kind of meeting as something it isn’t-I would hope this isn’t influencing police work.

Can you confirm if pushing past would be classed as assault then, if police are either not called by venue owners or don’t act for whatever reason?
-
I’m not a lawyer and it seems counterintuitive but it may do. The owner of the premises or those acting on the owner’s behalf may use reasonable force to remove trespassers.

They assaulted me - I was grabbed by both arms and the waist from behind
-
What was the police response to this? I’m sorry that happened to you.
-
I haven't talked to the police about it No point - they claim they were non-violent but context is everything as is an understanding of the law - what they did to me is called common assault. Like I said to them I won't be stopped from freely associating with other women!
-
No police nearby keeping an eye on things? I'm confused -
@ThePosieParker was told she'd be on a watch list if she didn't come when invited for interview but my ex who physically abused, stalked, hacked, blackmailed etc me declined their invite and nothing was ever done. -

EXACTLY. Those in power making decisions that affect women need to WAKE UP and stop doing the wrong things to avoid upsetting people just because they shout loudly. History should've taught you that women are hardcore, society depends on us & we're NOT a minority.

Apologies I meant assault means they need to have been put in fear that you were going to do something to them (from CPS guidance). This is confusing to me given what you've said here. Surely they can say that despite them being the ones preventing people leaving.
