Why don't you make sure that men's 'bathrooms' are better places for for other males, @skepticCanary?
Why are you so keen to de-legitimize women's opinions? (& it's not just about bathrooms, btw.)
Why does this even concern you, since you know so little about it?

It concerns me because trans rights are human rights.

Yes, of course they are. But sometimes - often, even - rights can be in tension with each other, and then we need to *talk* about that, not deny it - that's a fundamental tenet of liberalism.

True. But in this instance, if there were issues re trans *rights* - rather than wishes (& there aren't) - 'redefining' 'women' to include males wouldn't improve trans people's rights, anyway. It'll denigrate women's rights, & v likely impact negatively on trans rights too.

I'd like to understand what the *rights* are that are currently absent for trans people - what being trans prevents you from doing, what sort of legal protections from discrimination which are available to others are missing/

Thanks - basically page 31/32? Have I missed any new rights in law identified as needed elsewhere? Definition on page 38 feel very broad as a basis for extending access to rights based on protected character of sex.

Also, nothing in policy or law should imply that everyone who doesn't fall within the p38 definition lives contently with social gender norms - because that would be a huge mis-description certainly of most women I know, and probably lots of men.

Being trans isn’t about living within gender norms or otherwise. Plenty of trans women are butch lesbians, for example.

No they aren't they are gaslighting geezer birds who somehow happened on Judith Butler. But I honestly would not expect much else from the lib dems, a party primarily for weak men who nevertheless feel the need to bully others.

...and before anyone says “obviously we don’t include you in that Brian”, racists hate black people “except the neighbours - they’re OK”
