Who will be only too willing to join a coalition with the Tories , surely no one trusts the LibDems anymore??
-
-
-
We will not go into coalition with the Tories. End of
-
But , libdems cant be trusted once they get the scent of power
-
And
@UKLabour can’t be trusted on their past performance in government. Or do we give everyone the chance to realise their mistakes & not to make them again? Or is that what (whatever party) always does? -
Trouble is LibDems will never be in government on their own ,, so if Vince says he’s open to another coalition with the Tories ,then voting LibDem is a complete no no for anyone with an ounce of decency and a social conscience
-
He has said he is not open to another coalition with the Tories

How does it feel not just to be Canute trying to hold back the tide of the UK popular vote but also attempting to tactically 'leverage' the issue to achieve some sort of local council election results NB local councils have zero influence upon the whole Brexit issue LOL
-
You don't get it. The UK popular vote is now in favour of a referendum on the deal - the tide has turned. It is essential that people use local elections to send a message to both major parties that this is what the people want. How does it feel to get an education in politics?
-
PS the patronising tone of your reply ("how does it feel to get a political education") is yet another reminder of the contempt in which the likes of you metropolitan elite hold the ordinary voter
-
PS I was mimicking your patronising Canute comment but I can’t help it if you don’t recognise irony
-
You see you can't help yourself .... once again patronising "I can't help it if you don't recognise iron" ... and you wonder why ordinary voters reject the establishment

What so you can join the Tories again
-
FFS. When will you stop going on about the coalition and/or tuition fees?! There’s bigger stuff going on, like Brexit, on which Labour are letting everybody down. Sometimes, I think Labour care more about beating the LDs than beating the Tories. You’re a bunch of absolute
. -
Because they will do it again.
-
Cable has ruled out going in to coalition with Jeremy Corbyn's Labour so in the event of a hung parliament where would you go?
-
He has actually ruled out going into coalition with anyone and that is the official party line.
-
So they will never be in power.
-
Nor will Labour unless they get their shit together, on Brexit, on Syria and other conflict situations, and on anti-Semitism, and start to change the wider public’s perception. At least the LD can say they’re doing the right thing.

It seems you hear what you want to hear. E.T. also said that as democrats, Labour WILL respond to emerging public opinion and take fresh instructions from whatever dominant public mood develops. So watch this space, as they say!
-
Call me old-fashioned, but I thought political movements were meant to lead, not follow public opinion. Waiting for the public to change their mind is a shameful abdication of responsibility.
-
One might say that it makes good political sense.
-
So Labour sits on its hands, waiting for the polls to change and refusing to say what it really thinks about the most important issue the country faces - that doesn't look like "good political sense" to me.
-
Whilst some might say that’s not good leadership. The reality of the MSM looking for every chance to do a hatchet job on Corbyn and Labour leadership, it’s a pragmatic case of keeping cards close to chests until... IMHO
-
Mine too.
-
Thanks for responding so politely to my tweets. I find it ironic that the champion of "honest, principled politics" is now lauded by his supporters for "pragmatically keeping his cards close to his chest". I don't see how the change in public opinion...
-
...will occur unless someone is prepared to argue confidently and unapologetically the case for remain. I find it unsatisfactory that at the moment Labour seems happy to delegate that job to the Lib Dems and Greens - while ostensibly arguing that we've got it all wrong.
