For clarity, in saying @Womans_Place_UK had "genuinely-held concerns" I did not intend to convey that I agreed with those concerns or that they were justified - I have yet to form an opinion. I was trying to say that @Womans_Place_UK have concerns that they believe to be genuine.

In saying I had talked to
@LGBTLD, I did not intend to convey that I was acting with their blessing - on the contrary they had very serious misgivings. It is not true that I have been forced to resign or that I have been fired. It was solely my decision.Show this thread -
.
@LGBTLD have been at the forefront of championing transgender rights. I would never do anything deliberately to undermine their work in this important area. I do not intend to make any further comment about my decision to resign.Show this thread

Consider this. Are you on the side of masked people who seek to intimidate others through violence and threats of violence?
-
This is the sharp end of militant transactivists. There is no feminist equivalent.pic.twitter.com/gBG1a30dSz
-
There will always be extremists who, by definition, are outliers from the main bodies of opinion. It is not appropriate to suggest that the majority are all like the outliers.
-
Except this is not an outlier Brian. There is no other movement that even comes close to trans activism in terms of misogyny & the harassment of women & violent threats to women. What tells you this is endemic is that no trans or LGBT org condemns it, despite it's pervasiveness>
-
>the violence, as always, is coming from males, and supported by males, and ignored for the benefit of males. Don't pull a Trump 'it's both sides' nonsense with this. If you are geniunely attempting to understand the issue, then you need to understand the dangerous actuality.
-
I do not accept that the majority of trans people are violent misogynists or that violence always comes from males. The latter because of personal experience of 30 years as a police officer and the former because of the many reasonable, thoughtful and kind trans people I've met.
-
I didn't say that the majority of trans women are violent misogynists, no-one can know if that is the case. I said that violent misogyny is pervasive in trans activism, which it is, & - crucially - this is not challenged by organisations representing this community at all. So >

Told you open-mindedness and a genuine desire to listen to people and help reconcile and heal divisions would blow up in your face. It's sad, but those leading each side in this fight only care about destroying the other completely, rather than actually solving anything :( :(

Face still in tact

I’m genuinely saddened to hear this. I hope you will continue to engage in thoughtful discussion on women’s concerns around ‘gender identity’ and the impact on women and girls, particularly lesbians.

It was a promise nobody had the right to ask you to make.

The politics are complex
-
I met you after my house burned down in the riots. Now I'm more scared to go to a WP meeting because of the incident in Bristol than I was of the 200 strong mob because I didn't fear defending myself then. That's pretty complex and totally unacceptable. But nobody will say so.
-
What I saw of the images from Bristol was terrifying & unacceptable in my opinion
-
Thank you for saying so. I’m concerned that none of the LGBT groups or charities have denounced this behaviour over several similar incidents though.
