Woman’s Place UK was formed last year to platform women’s voices after incidents where women were threatened and assaulted for voicing concerns on the GRA.

What has me being able to get a birth cert change in an easier fashion have to do with these people? They are trying to roll back the equality act. None of the things they are concerned about having anything to do with the GRA. They are already covered.

"These people" are females whose ID says they're female because they were born female. Equality Act recognizes sex-based oppression, which gender identity nullifies; if a male can say he's a woman, sex is disappeared. Biological sex is critical to women's rights. You're ignorant.

I admire what you are doing Brian. It's hard, and it's easy to see why some folks are intimidated and put off from engaging.

It's pretty hard to calibrate yourself around this argument at the moment - but it is important. Beyond attraction and indentification, we still need to live together. Good luck.

“Someone criticised me for meeting a trans person, therefore trans people are bad.” Yes let’s use this logic for all minority groups! Homosexuals, black people, Jews, Muslims...

What are the criteria for such meetings? I have a number of trans lawyer contacts who would undoubtedly be interested in adding to the conversation.

With all respect Brian, unless you're trans, you're not the person who has to live with transphobia, and who can name its more subtle forms when you see it. You need to believe trans people when they call it out.

With all respect, Chick unless you're female you're not the person who has to live with sexist discrimination and have one's hard win privileges threatened and who can name more subtle forms of misogyny when they see it. You need to believe actual women's concerns when they talk

I'm an actual woman, but thanks for demonstrating my point

No worries. Did you experience discrimination in the workplace for having children? Or the presumption that you will have children?
