If you make judgements on the basis of only listening to one side of an argument, if you think debating issues if inflammatory, then I don’t trust your judgment and neither should anyone else.

I've listened to all the arguments and the science. I even listened to some of the bigots, until I realised that they were, in the end, just sad old bigots like any other. Sadly you don't seem to realise that (yet - I hope you will soon).

So I am blocked for saying the above. How do you expect to have a debate with people about this issue when you block for something like that? How is that in any way abusive?

I was blocked for similar. Suggests a brittle ideological position. Or a fragile male ego. Or both.

It's new to me all this blocking. What happened to a good old fashioned heated debate? The concept that it was possible for people to have different opinions about issues? That life is never completely clear cut? No goodies and baddies just flawed human beings trying their best.

Good question. The only people I block are sock puppet fake accounts who endlessly harass or bots. I’m open to any civil dialogue conducted in good faith.

Replying to @MichaelConroy68 @CarlBrown1975 and
noticed a fair few politicians recently wading into heated and contentious 'debates' on twitter&clearly demonstrating one sided views of issue in hand - pretty extreme ones at that. questions their capability as elected representatives to fulfil democratic oath surely?

Well I’m a politician, I haven’t demonstrated one-sided views and I’m not elected!
