Do you mean any feminist, or specifically an anti trans feminist? Because the latter are by no means all of the former (Indeed I know many trans feminists). Brave of you to offer yourself up to the lions den tho.

-
I need lions! Of course, I realise the difference but I need to understand those feminists who deny the existence of trans women.
-
Sounds like you might have already decided. No one is denying the existence of anyone.
-
People who deny trans women are women, who use the pronouns he and him when they use the pronouns she and her.
-
Not believing trans women are literally women and denying they exist at all are two very very different things.
-
What does literally mean? I’ve heard feminists say trans women are men. That sounds to me like saying trans women, in one sense, do not exist.
-
I don’t think Twitter is the best medium for this - if you are genuinely interested in what gender critical feminists think, and are willing to set aside the preconceptions that you obviously have, I think an offline discussion would be really fruitful.
-
“...preconceptions you obviously have” You maybe right in your views on gender politics, you may be more knowledgeable than me but you’re not bloody mind readers!

Amazing you've asked! If only political parties would. I suggest: 1.
@Transgendertrd Stephanie is v knowledgable about impact on children -
Why amazing? It’s essential to listen to all sides to try to understand the issues.
-
There are plenty of LDs going around hashtagging
#nodebate - when people are shouting out TERF at those concerned & there’s utter silence from parliamentarians then it does feel amazing for someone to actually ask; it shouldn’t but it does. I’ve never been so ashamed of the LDs. -
How one is supposed to create evidence based policy in this climate? By the way, no one is questioning the ‘existence’ of transwomen or men...that is an already loaded assumption.

Brian, it’s so encouraging that you’re willing to talk to gender-critical people. We're diverse: women, men, parents, activists; gay, straight, trans. Pls come to this without prejudice: that means dropping the ‘transwomen are women’ mantra that many transwomen themselves reject.
-
I highly recommend that you speak to four central groups that have organised around this issue:
@Womans_Place_UK,@fairplaywomen,@SexMattersUK and Mumsnet feminist group. Some contacts:@TybilAlper,@ruthserwotka,@PilgrimTucker,@AskNic@ManFRIDAY_@GappyTales@akmd87 -
See the
@Womans_Place_UK website and its five eminently reasonable demands for consultation with women on gender self-ID:https://womansplaceuk.org/our-demands-2/ -
I’d also urge you to speak to pro-feminist, gender-critical transwomen who recognise that trans rights must not crush women’s rights.
@KJ_Harrison@DebbieHayton@TerrorizerMir@hopepinkboots@veronic49084340 @shushingthecult @StrawC8ke@Alina_Starkova_@seven_hex @gendercrit91 -
Pls also talk to parents & specialists in child devt (some are in US). There are issues of homophobia around transitioning lesbian/gay children that we must be able to discuss.
@BJontry@LilyLilyMaynard@dad_gc@4th_WaveNow@LisaMarchiano@Transgendertrd@cwknews@brunskellevans -
And please also connect with gender-critical men who have valuable perspectives on modern transgender dogma that you may not have considered e.g.
@MichaelConroy68@jenkins_charlie@Throwaway_Gay @greekfur@WingsScotland@lecanardnoir -
Rich & compassionate discussions are needed that analyse the consequences (esp for women, children & trans people) of replacing the objective, immutable category of sex with the subjective, mutable category of gender. May there be more light & less heat on this issue. Good luck!

Well said, Hattie
