This is true Lee, and having met and had a beer/wine with Gavin, I can assure you Peter he’s not anti police. Being slightly more emotionally detached is prob a good way to conduct analysis...

In her reply she says "The police told us last year the number of additional police officers needed to do their job"... You need to pursue this! It's either (a)
#ToryLies or (b)@PoliceChiefs need to be exposed for telling Govt what Govt wants to hear!

I know. Unfortunately you’re not allowed to come back at the time but I will pursue it.

I know... Which (a) allows Govt to avoid the question / lie with impunity (see also
#PMQs - has, May actually ever answered a single question from anyone but a Tory???) & (b) renders the whole thing a total waste of time... And they kerp saying the police need Reform...

I'll go for A. My local pcc a Tory has raised the precept to the maximum to avoid losing 60 officers. He's now only losing 10. West Mids are having to close stations to avoid losing officers. .In fact the west mids cc has recently said he needs more.
