One of my colleagues punched in the head numerous times last night by a suspect and ended up in hospital for half the night. Sgt on duty couldn’t wait to get himself home on time and no rank went to see him. Disgusting. Who actually cares?!

Can I give police leaders some advice? As a borough Commander (ACC) in Met, if I heard one of my officers has been taken to casualty, if possible I’d go to the hospital. Had a car & a driver, it took so little effort on my part but it meant a lot to the officer & his colleagues.

Small things matter, not sure if you’ve seen the attached Brian. Been adopted by the Met, it’s not rocket science but makes people feel they matter.pic.twitter.com/hDTtRkcx9Z

It’s not just about assault police although important. Whiplash injuries following collisions, officers taken seriously ill, ... - of course assaults need to be taken seriously by CJS, bosses & staff associations but leaders demonstrably caring for their people is what it’s about
