Each of our teams will police a larger area so there will be more officers available when you need thempic.twitter.com/kFBGuNgzzS
As Borough Commander Lambeth I had over 1,000 officers & staff spread over 6 police stations, operating 24/7 shifts & I just about managed to lead/be seen. To take on another borough at the same time would have been impossible. Span of command too great to lead effectively.
Sadly effective leadership has long since left the police. Upper echelons of command too busy looking after own careers to care about looking after and leading rather than managing their officers
When I was borough commander they tried to changed the resource allocation formula & reduce Lambeth establishment. I argued publicly this was unacceptable & decision was reversed. They got me back for it in the end though!
With The Commissioner and now an AC coming back from retirement I think it's your turn to come back now!
I would love to...they would hate it!
"They" might... But we'd love it!
