I’ve had 2x 2 medical procedures in past 10 years, same procedures, 2 on NHS, 2 private. Private = 1 doctor, 1 nurse both times. NHS = 1 doctor, 3 nurses both times. Can someone explain the difference? (Same type of anaesthetic/sedation in private & NHS, same outcomes)
If it can be done safely and effectively with 1 nurse...?

Also just because you received the same outcome on 4 occasions you can’t extrapolate that to the conclusion that there isn’t a statistically significant difference across all of the instances of that same procedure.

Maybe the private institutions had two nurses close by that the could call quickly if necessary.

Different centres may accept different levels of safe working. I’d hope both had performed risk assessments to determine good clinical practice. The private institution may have had more experience of the procedure so felt more comfortable with fewer staff.

I suppose it is like doing a wanted enquiry one officer could do it safely and effectively but it is always nice to have one round the back and a spare if they start fighting
