I care less about his dishonesty and more about his homophobia. His liberalism extends to just tolerating gay people, rather than accepting us. Another nail in the Lib Dem coffin I fear.
-
Homophobia is hatred of gay people. Tim is not homophobic.

To be honest, I feel utterly cheated and let down. As members, we spent time (and money) arguing in his defence...and now this...
-
Shades of tuition fees when it comes to truth and LibDems.... I’ll never forgive over that.
-
But yet you forgive Labour for doing exactly the same thing. Twice.

If only more people were honest about their beliefs - only then can underlying homophobia be tackled.

But being honest about being a small-minded homophobe with unacceptable views stuck in the Middle Ages still isn't a great look, is it?

It’s all so bloody vile. Religion is essentially an exceptionally divisive and dark tool. I’m not too sure I’d want my kids going anywhere near organised self loathing. We are all born wrong except for a man that waved a magic stick and created earth in 6 days...
-
Religion is disgusting 'Faith' schools should be banned. Anyone forcing religion on kids - including parents - should be charged with child abuse.
-
If you’re allowed to voice that opinion then those who disagree with homosexuality should be allowed to voice their own. You can’t be allowed to intimidate those who disagree with you.
-
Yeah totally people should certainly be able to express themselves, of course minus total outrageous hatred that causes real emotional and mental damage.
-
I think hatred towards any group is unacceptable. We’re all different. We can’t just accept those who believe or act in the ways that we approve. We also don’t have to endorse or propagate other beliefs, just support the right to live free from harm & discrimination.

The whole point is that he should have been honest at the time it mattered i.e. whilst campaigning. He chose to lie but now be honest so it's okay? If I was gay I wouldn't give a toss what

I couldn't agree with you more Brian.
@timfarron is the reason I couldn't vote for the Lib Dems in the last election. Hypocrisy & dishonesty isn't a good look.@HulbertMathew -
I think some members of
#TeamTim might now need to make a few apologies for the vitriol they generated and directed at people during the leadership campaign...

So many people get into trouble for lies not what they believe. Politicians have trouble with this If Damien Green had admitted the truth it would have all gone away
