'culture of believing complainants'..? you make it sound as if Police should adopt a culture of not believing...oh soz...most already do... #militarytoo

The point I’m trying to make is the police should be involved in an objective search for the truth, not taking one side or the other.
-
'should' being the operative word...never met a police officer that didn't have pre-formed opinions and were 'guided' by their gut instinct whilst wearing blinkers...
-
I’m sorry to hear about your own personal experiences & commend the work your organisation is trying to do but I do not believe the same conclusions can be drawn about all police officers.
-
No, not all but far too many in the field of CSA....partic those on Op Midland....having been directly involved and discovering slanted questions/ignoring what didn't fit their agenda.

one investigating officer, two failed cases. and he is still in post.
#fail -
We do not know whether he officer is still employed in the same role. There should be a presumption of innocence in the officer’s case as there should have been in the cases he was involved in.
-
an earlier version of
@thetimes article implied that he was. yes there should be a presumption of innocence, but two cases collapsing in a week is too much of a coincidence.

Retired 18 months ago ... the drive to successfully prosecute sexual offences is masking a search for the truth. Not always, but sadly it’s there ... stronger ( and braver), supervision is required.

Don't forget how cuts have SERIOUSLY impacted on (quality) training & supervision as well as actual time for investigation. And headline HAS to be that it CANNOT be right that one DC (or even PC) has 20+ rape cases on the go. They CAN'T do them anywhere NEAR properly.
