No doubt politicians were advised by well-meaning “experts” who felt the messages they were promoting were the right ones. I campaigned to Remain using the materials we were given. The important point is we need to get the facts across.

The important point, as I have written before, is that facts are backed up with emotional messages, which is how all successful communications work. The message should have been about remaining together, to take on modern challenges and open the future with our neighbours...

I wrote about it here. https://www.creativereview.co.uk/inside-remain-campaign-failed-next/ … Campaign was dreadful. Blaming the materials is disappointing. Every politician had the opportunity to research how EU democracy and trade works, and to craft bold messages. Experts advised better messages, politicians rejected them.
