No formal training, but new cops schooled in how to deal by more experienced colleagues? Differences in local practice betn forces?

If wraps of cocaine in the mouth, danger of heart attack if swallowed & packages break. Potentially life saving (not just evidential) action

Medical experts were engaged to advise police (talking early-mid 2000’s) after deaths following struggles during arrest. Advice was accepted
