Brian, you made your mind up a long time ago based on who would give you praise, and which position would protect you from bullying and harassment (being called a Nazi, a transphobe, et cetera)

I didn’t realise mind-reader was one of your skills. I never cease to be amazed!
-
I think most people would agree that on this issue, you’re just as likely to be bullied & harassed whichever side you take. I think most people would also agree I don’t take the easy way out, & you, of all people, know that’s true. Unlike you, I’m not paid to be controversial.
-
“...which position would protect you from bullying and harassment”. Have you seen my timeline?!

-
your timeline is full of objections. Have you seen the bullying of trans activists? Look:
#terfisaslur. The difference is huge. (It's male pattern aggression)

Brian, I very much respect your honesty and integrity, but don't you think we should at the very least do a proper safeguarding impact assessment before we consider going ahead with gender self-id? If we get this wrong, people could get hurt. This genuinely worries me.
-
Yes of course we do & we need to carefully consider what safeguards need to be put in place.
-
This isn't just about safeguards though. Many older women have said that they will avoid situations where their dignity & privacy cld be compromised. Muslim women and girls also fear their ability to participate in education, activities & community life wld be severely affected.
-
In a separate tweet I said I wouldn't feel comfortable changing or undressing in the company of female strangers. I'm sure the discomfort would be mutual. It's not academic. There's a growth in unisex facilities even where it breaks existing laws (Liverpool Council please note).

The problem is that women are not afforded that luxury and are silenced by those you support. It is misogynistic to assume YOU have the right to give away women's hard fought rights to men who demand to be considered women
-
Full page adverts in a national newspaper. Billboard adverts. Meetings with MPs and Lords. Many supportive articles in several national newspapers. TV and radio appearances. What exactly do you mean when you say silenced?

Brian, you are wrong on this. The GRA reforms are dangerous for women. Our rights expunged to validate a small % of men who identify of women. I hold you, and all other supporters of GRA reform, responsible when the inevitable rapes and assaults happen. How dare you.
-
How dare you express an opinion you mean?
-
It's more than having an opinion though isn't it? You have a seat in the House of Lords; you are an influencer. As a man, you have no right to tell women to leave trans women alone. We didnt want this fight but they chose to encroach on our territory and we will defend it.

If you honestly believe women and children are not put in immense danger by self-id you either haven’t listened to women’s concerns or you don’t care and are happy to be complicit in removing existing safeguards for women and children essential to protect against

We can support trans rights and the rights of women born as females. Each had different experiences socially and biologically and have differing needs, including safety. I want both groups needs protected. My concern is the GR A proposal ignores female rights.
