Women have justified concerns about male violence, misogyny, male privilege & male dominance of society (as do I) but trans women are not men & are not responsible for these issues - these are issues that affect them too. Time to focus on the real issues & leave trans women alone
-

I think that you have missed out the voice of many women who say that the presence of a male body can create panic and fear for traumatised women. It is not simply about ‘risk assessment’ - it must also be about mental health and fears resulting from traumatic life experiences.
-
Risk assessment isn’t just about the subject. It’s about the impact of the subject on others. Of course the effect of an individual on others accessing services at the same time needs to be taken into account in that risk assessment.
-
But no-one is asking the women who use these services whether they consent to sharing this space with male bodied people. Please show me one single risk assessment where the female users views were included . You won't find one.

It is. Sexism disguised as "caring and kind".

So you acknowledge that transwomen are men then? Good to know.
-
Absolutely not
-
How are they women?

Still waiting for your definition Mr Paddick

Doesn’t answer the question. I think as someone in your position you don’t get to run away as soon as the questions get uncomfortable. You made a statement. You are just being asked to prove it.

Trying to suggest lesbians won't be traumatised by males in a refuge because their abuser would most likely be female is so ignorant it's breathtaking. You're either being disingenuous, which is disgraceful, or you're so ignorant and lesbophobic that you're not fit for purpose.
-
1) lesbians are harassed, abused, attacked for being women same as all women PLUS suffer lesbophobic abuse & assaults by men 2) many women in relationships with men out of fear are actually lesbians, 3) lesbians don't like male bodies, OBVIOUSLY, & 4) nearly all abusers are male.
-
None of that make them incapable of committing abuse, though.
-
If you're suggesting that lesbians are a threat to other women in a refuge (or any other space) by equating them to transwomen, who are men, then you are a disgusting misogynist. Official stats show transwomen are MORE likely to commit sex and violent crimes than any other group
-
Absolutely. All women have grown up amongst lesbians and know that they don’t pose a risk to other women. They don’t rape like rapey men

I have to stop you right there, Brian. You should read the speech
@K_IngalaSmith gave at the recent Leeds@Womans_Place_UK meeting. Here’s a relevant extract:pic.twitter.com/pvzlMRVFR1
-
I’ve read it
-
...and clearly ignored it. But hey,
@K_IngalaSmith is only a woman, an adult human female, the kind of woman that you clearly are not actually listening to in spite of your hand-wringing & desire to appear to be listening to all perspectives. Shameful. -
Well said! Women seem to have little voice in this debate. It’s appalling.

. But this is the thing: with self-ID, you couldn’t question someone’s presence. They are allowed to be in that space because they say they are. That’s a big change and a big concern, I think
