When police are looking for a murder suspect, the first thing they do, before they even investigate a scene, is making al list of local people who keep themselves to themselves, because one of them did it.

Thanks. My only point is the overall impression given by that single agenda and the phraseology sometimes used is that police service is riddled with corruption. It simply isn't. (Though Govt seem determined to bring it back by constant erosion of terms, condition & morale
) -
What's wrong with having truth & honesty as an agenda? Especially if the end goal gives confidence to the Public & positively raises the profile of those Officers who face the Public on a daily basis. How do you know the current position with regard to corruption?

Failure to address issues brought to light in Operation Tiberius is deeply concerning. Commissioned in 2001 yet nothing but a cover up hàs ensued

The Met does not have the stomach to deal with this report & would much rather it went away. Those former Officers detailed therein as corrupt are now corrupting Serving Officers and so the cycle continues. This is not historical it is current.
#OperationTiberius -
You're absolutely correct. But given that corrupt officers have been named in Operation Tiberius' report have not been disciplined, charged nor rooted out it suggests that the indifference of Cressida Dick and Mrs May could suggest the corruption extends to the very highest level
-
Some get embroiled by trying erroneously to safe the reputation of the Organisation, this strategy does more damage than good and should be replaced with openness and honesty.
-
Given the number of police tweets supporting colleagues who fall short of professional standards, eg when a policeman took a swing in Tescos, there is now endemic police corruption, expected within the police service come what may, & punishing whistleblowers, who should be heard.
-
Don't know about that incident but Police and Public both need to accept that the Police are human and don't always get it right but more often they do. Those Police that are involved in inexcusable behaviour should not get support from Police or Public.
