@brianpaddick you are aware of the misinformation, intimidation, threats and violence against womem used to orchestrate this. You came under fire yourself for offering to hear women. Have you learned nothing?

I’ve learnt a lot. Thank you for asking.

Did you hear about this last night?https://twitter.com/RaeUK/status/1045841132620599296?s=20 …

It is important to be somewhat sceptical about surveys, etc about how happy women are when all the 'wrong' women's voices are being actively suppressed in such a way that prejudices the outcome.

When women across the world are struggling to have equal rights to men, a bunch of men are fighting to have lesser rights by calling themselves women. The apex of silliness.
-
Exactly. Doesn’t make any sense does it? Unless they’re not just calling themselves women.
-
They are not women; they are trans women. The operative word is trans, meaning across from, not the same as. Conflating the two is the problem. Trans women enjoy their rights in law, their desire to be regarded as actual women in not a right.

Also the good news is they already have the same rights as other women. In fact they have more rights. They can already access all privileges accorded to their biological sex (male) AND can sometimes access privileges normally reserved for women.
-
Yes. They have all advantages of males, get accolades intended for women, eg
#PhilipBunce, inappropriately express a sexual fetish at work incl. enter women spaces. Bunce's female colleagues don't have the right to private space at work to go through a miscarriage away from men.

How did the poll define transwomen + rights? I want everyone to have equal rights so if I knew nothing about the Self-ID debate would have simply said yes. Had the poll said ‘should someone with a penis be allowed in women’s changing rooms if they say they are a woman’ what then?
-
Then you woke up and it was all a dream. That is not what is being proposed, what is being proposed is a process of self ID to get a gender recognition certificate. You don't need a GRC to get into a changing room. Or any ID for changing rooms I've ever been in, you just walk in

I want Trans to have equal rights, that is equal human rights, part of human rights is making space for the differences in individual groups, Females have the human right not have males in intimate spaces, self ID and giving men my sex id reduces my right as a female. So no.

It’s also a tiny sample across several international cities, so hardly representative of rural Aberdeenshire, for example.

Brian??? Really??Women are not interested in denying human rights to people as you well know. They're concerned with maintaining their own- which is still sadly necessary. You need to woman up and be as brave as these women standing in a storm of false allegations and harassment

We do. And we want spaces for biological women. Transwomen deserve all human rights and they are still not women.

What was the actual question these women were asked? A thousand women out of billions is hardly representative! And reported like a postscript in a newspaper. "This" my arse.
