Statistics show that female violence is usually defence violence, and often the culmination of years of abuse. Police usually concur with this. I agree, we need all the facts, but given precedent, I always find myself wondering offence or defence? What led up to it? Etc.
You’ll excuse me if I was shocked when someone told me women were incapable of violence. Representations were made to me. I met with the police. They acknowledged the problem, I do not know the details.

If no details are available, bear in mind that Linda Bellos and Posie Parker (both prominentGC women) were questioned under caution by the police. But of course anyone can be violent under the right circumstances.

And their respective 'crimes' were to refer to the surgical 'gender reassignment' of a 16-year-old boy as "castration", and to respond to threats of violence by saying they would "fight back". That was it. Boom. Knock at the door, and on with the cuffs...
