You are not listening. We are talking about hundreds of thousands of women pushed out of public life, and that's just to start with, and you couldn't care less.

But exclusion from women’s spaces, such as refuges. Where those running the refuge feel that it is essential that women and children can be free from male bodies to recover. A number of the women campaigning with me have been so traumatised that they needed men-free spaces.
-
That will not be allowed? In Vancouver, there is only one refuge left that only admits natal women. It is under constant challenge. There are traumatised women who do not feel they can access health care unless they are assured their treatment is by women.
-
I will reiterate something I stated earlier. Please bear with me as it won’t fit into a single tweet. The unvarnished truth is that this discussion centres around whether some men should be afforded women’s rights. I am aware that some find that statement difficult.
-
But I refer to sex not gender identity. It seems to me safer to rely on provable physical evidence, rather than relying on anyone’s statement. Such statements are always open to question.
-
Do the crime figures back up the statement that transwomen will be at significant risk in male spaces? If so, then how can society help them? What are the costs of that help? I feel those are the questions that need to be asked.
-
Instead I feel we are being told that transwomen are women and must be allowed into female spaces and the only discussion allowed is whether there should be any gatekeeping, and if so how much.
-
Women are being asked to prove they will be at risk, when the burden of proof should surely be on the other foot.
-
Women should feel they are being assured that no harm will occur because x, y, z. Instead they are slurred as transphobes and bigots for questioning whether the deal on offer is safe.

Life experience has taught me not to trust men. I really, really do not want them around me in female spaces. This is where I can relax and feel safe. I like men but I fear them. Why am I being forced to accept male bodies in my spaces? Why are my rights less than theirs?
-
As a man I totally agree with you. Why can't you have that right? And to Brian Paddick, are you seriously saying that a criminal who changes name, appearance & sex won't disappear from the Police radar? Because an awful lot do that now, without even trying to disguise themselves.

The issue boils down to who is allowed to *see* GRCs. Privacy laws for people with GRCs mean ONLY the police can see them, and ONLY if a crime is suspected. How can organisations offering women-only spaces enforce their legal right to exclude TW if they can't prove they're trans?
-
This is such a key point. GRC is needed to alter a birth certificate but NOT to change passport, driving license etc. There is no meaningful way to officially evidence ‘female’ in everyday life. Current situation causes probs both for women having to share w men & some GNC women.

People with a GRC can have a new birth certificate with sex recorded corresponding to their new gender. Their original birth certificate is kept but it is illegal for any authority to reveal its' existence. Already our sex-based protections are gone.
