Just had a press release that contained the acronym: LGBTUA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Undefined, Asexual). Can someone let me know what exact 'oppression' someone within 'undefined' sexuality or a person who is 'asexual' experiences? Serious question. Really.

Lots of things lead 2 real problems Brian. I wouldn't call it discrimination, not at all. We all have problems in our personal & work relationships for example, should we add all of them 2 the alphabet soup? Or shall we call it life? Oppression is different from having a problem.

It reminds me of this...https://twitter.com/Docstockk/status/1009730285485817856?s=19 …

It's cotton ceiling or incel thinking. Not giving in to another's relationship/sexual demands is "serious discrimination".
-
There are times when discriminating should be considered an ok thing to do. Who you live with, have relationships with, have sex with are some of those times. No one can surely expect to demand an intimate relationship with someone that isn't willing?

As I understand it Julie didn't expect you to rate various forms of discrimination (that would be impossible anyway), but sought enlightenment on your concept of suffering.
-
Oh, I didn’t realise Julie was asexual and understood all about how asexual people feel. Apologies.
-
No need to apologise for your lack of perception.

You should try it. Then it will be immediately obvious that discrimination against gays and lesbians - which includes the death penalty and "corrective rape" in some places - is much, much worse than not being able to find a romantic parter who will accept a sexless relationship.
-
"My parents threw me out of the house at 13 when I came out as not wanting to have sex w/my boyfriend" SAID NO ONE EVER. "I was passed up for yet another promotion at work because someone outed me for not wanting to have sex w/romantic partners" SAID NO ONE EVER. Seriously, man?

It's not discrimination if someone doesn't want to have a relationship with you. It's personal preference. This is an insult to people who suffer real discrimination

People tell us a lot of things. We need to use a little critical thinking.

A million things lead to problems. Problems are part of life and being 'different' in any way from the established norms can attract prejudice. For example, if you have a regional accent, you are discriminated against - but we can't legislate for everything. This is absurd!

Not having sex is a personal choice. It may impact ones life but you are not identifiable by a hostile society. You are not discriminated as a class of people. This is patently rediculous.

Problems arent discrimation. As a middle aged woman, I would now happily be asexual. The problem is most men arent keen on that deal. So its a problem but not discrimination or oppression.

If you are asexual, you need to find someone who doesn't mind or who is also asexual. Same if you want a lot of sex in a relationship. Aside from sex, there are many other incompatibilities that can lead to problems. Everyone has problems.

Brian likes finding things to feel outraged about. He lacks common sense, I feel.
