Thousands die every year on UK roads, none of them as a result of irresponsible cyclists. If you're that concerned about the dangers of transport there is a more obvious target for your concern.

Do you have a source for those statistics, please, Brian?
-
Yes, I don't believe it. Fatalities closer to one a year. Serious injuries much lower than 80 Minor injuries of pedestrians and cyclists are often not reported.

Cycling UK! It's in the thread! https://www.cyclinguk.org/campaigning/views-and-briefings/pedestrians …

Interesting
@brianpaddick when you look at the facts in CONTEXT to the data given you clearly skewed it to your own anti-cycling tweets. So I've highlighted in red some key points you missed from@WeAreCyclingUK.@TopHat_247@CliffMatthews@bicycal_life@_bransby_@theJeremyVinepic.twitter.com/6Gd5mr9ObG

I directly quoted from the website. I was challenging the false assertion that there were no deaths involving bike v pedestrian. If you actually read the thread it includes a video of my cycling manifesto for London when I ran for Mayor in 2012. I am anything but anti-cycling
-
I'm not going to comment further except to say, given first-hand evidence of dangerous cycling involving a collision with a pedestrian, I'm told I must be mistaken. When I quote figures from a cycling group's website, I am told they must be wrong. There's not point me arguing.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT THE BEES! they kill twice as many people as bikes! The bees I tell you, its the bees!
-
50 people die falling off ladders every year in the UK, and 20 people drown in the bath every year. I don't see Brian shouting for tighter controls on ladders and bathtubs.
-
JESUS!?! people die of other things to? WTF? SOMETHING MUST be done! We must challenge the assertion that people don't die in other ways. :-)

And yet you're silent about the average 5 people per day killed by drivers? If your boat out at sea has 2 holes, will you ignore the huge 1 while spending ages trying to fix the tiny one?

But not to blame. Involved does not mean at fault. Only 1 cyclist in recent times (this century) has been convicted of causing the death of a pedestrian. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’ll wait.

Yes it is too many but motor vehicles are involved in a much, much, much larger number. Want safer roads? Well, You can't bang on about cyclists without addressing the bigger problem first, where even a small % reduction would immediately eclipse the cycling KSI figures.

Have you looked at cars ? Motorists kill way more people both on roads and pavements. Why not sort this out?

It is too many, but statistically it's irrelevant especially when compared to the numbers KSId by vehicles.

On average in how many of these were the cyclists to blame. Cars drivers kill as many pedestrians on the pavement. Too many?
