There are no separate rules as you well know, Brian. You're ranting about a cyclist and making a sweeping generalisation.
I saw a woman knocked to the ground by a cyclist. It’s not like risking a “late amber”. Lights went red, the “green man” came on, she stepped into the road, and then the cyclist hit her. It really shook me. There’s no excuse for any road user to do this. See it repeatedly.

I saw a small child thrown around 20 feet by a car running a pedestrian crossing on red. I don't condemn all motorists as a result.

Come on Brian, you don't repeatedly see cyclists knock people to the ground. Look at the collision stats, for every cyclist collision there's 99 driver collisions.
