The Dylos isn't perfect but it's way better than the cheap amazon temtop measurements I'm seeing most people make. Thanks for posting Annie!
I tested the Temtop against the Dylos outside and got very similar results for PM2.5.pic.twitter.com/9RZYiYdeV8
They can correlate, the point is both of them can also diverge depending on the particular changing conditions. Also while the Dylos is better than the temtop, it’s not perfect itself.
FWIW, a friend shared this with me. A $100,000 mass spectrometry device measuring co2 at 700ppm vs the “cheap” temptop device that’s $100 measuring at 666ppm. The similar results and vast delta in price give me increased confidence in their ability to measure.pic.twitter.com/b3RKf3WFgj
Directionally correct is good enough to drive mass consumption of air purifiers.
Sorry, I’m not sure I follow what you’re saying? Also what model Levoit purifier were you using?
I have 2 running in different parts of the house - LV-H132 and LV-H133. Directionally accurate for particulate counts is enough to drive consumer validation that the air is bad enough to buy an air purifier, so either brand works fine.
Thanks for clarifying and good to hear your filters are working! Stay safe!
Glad to see the air quality improve today. Hope the family is coping well.
