Sorry @wsj I value your content but your mobile app sucks. It logs me out randomly, crashes and otherwise blocks me from reading the content I paid for. It’s been real.

The other annoying this is it for some reason seems to prioritize downloading yesterday's paper and the day before over today's issue if I haven't visited the app in a while. I don't get that at all.

Not an excuse for a poorly-performing app, but can't you get the content from your mobile browser? I can't think of much need for an app in this use case.

yes I can but I must be old or something because I don't particularly like using a mobile browser.

Happened to me too repeatedly. I _want_ to pay for good journalism, but the implementations broadly are terrible. "Oh sorry you pay us already but you logged in on a desktop and this link is mobile, here's our paywall again."

The content is well written, it’s the indispensable business paper, but the digital experience is awful. Crashes, logs out, and downloads tons of ads and data for a paywall app. No good reason for it.

No issues for me but man I really hate it when apps misbehave no matter the reason. I am sure you already tried deleting the app, rebooting the device, power cycling the transformer at the utility pole, etc.
