I've noticed that tweets about random experiences/everyday crap tend to get *way* more RTs and attention than those that promote actual breaking news. Not sure if I should care or what/if anything I can/should do about but thought I would put it out there for the twitterverse. tx

Mr. K. You are a security researcher/reporter. I guess your Tweets about politics don't reach your intended audience.

While I cannot find, I've seen some tweets from @briankrebs regarding if not Trump then other tweets about politics and not cybersec. Searching your Twitter feed I don't see any of them. So, if I see more of this, I'll screenshot them to you. I apologize for my post. Truly sorry

There's a comment there about provenance, DNA, and blockchain ... But I'll leave that alone.

I think people are just burned out on the news items and trying to connect as humans... at least on some level.

It’s an unpalatable reality: entertainment, sports, food & pets are relatable & draw engagement. But hard news, explained clearly & well, can still get the attention it merits. Keep it up: as I hope you know, your work makes a difference in our lives.

I think @dunningch nailed it, @briankrebs. Even amongst our peers, the dystopia of our chosen profession lends us to less-than-likeable tweets that interrupt our followers escapism with doses of reality (often times requiring action on their part).

in my experience, serious tweets (especially news tweets) usually come with a link for an article with more information ... this is all well & good, and has its place in social media but as for me, I will not retweet a tweet with a link unless I’ve read the linked article

as for random experience / everyday crap tweets, those are often short & relatable — if there’s no link & the tweeter doesn’t appear to be a bot, I’m more likely to share it on my own timeline
